Radix ILS taps Marsh veteran Nicolas Plianthos as COO

Bermuda-based, tech-focused reinsurer Radix ILS has strengthened its operational leadership with the appointment of former Marsh executive Nicolas Plianthos (pictured) as chief operating officer, as it continues to build out its platform on the island.

Plianthos joins from his most recent role as senior vice president following a history of leadership roles and an impressive 18 years behind Marsh’s wheel. Savvy to the Bermuda market, Plianthos brings a depth of ILS and commercial insurance operations knowledge to the role.

The appointment continues Radix ILS’s push to scale its reinsurance platform, which noted that Plianthos’s, with his experience as a trusted advisor and track record in leading complex re/insurance administration, will be vital in driving operational excellence.

In a LinkedIn post following the announcement, Plianthos said: “For nearly 18 years at Marsh Management Services Bermuda, I had the privilege of growing both personally and professionally.

“I’m deeply grateful to David Ezekiel and David Pickering of International Advisory Services (IAS) for giving me the opportunity to come to Bermuda—a truly remarkable, beautiful, and unique island.

“I now look forward to carrying forward the knowledge, skills, and perspective gained over these years as I begin this next chapter with Radix ILS. I wish my former clients and colleagues continued success and look forward to crossing paths again in my new role.”
