Prudential Financial promotes Joseph Barrowclough to president of Bermuda reinsurance

Prudential Financial has appointed Joseph Barrowclough (pictured) as president of Bermuda reinsurance, overseeing Lotus Re and Gibraltar Re.

Barrowclough, who joined the group in October 2023 as chief actuary before becoming chief financial officer, will lead strategy across the two wholly owned subsidiaries, which focus on US and Japanese life and annuity business.

Prior to Prudential Financial, Barrowclough held actuary roles at EY and St. James’s Place Wealth Management.

Barrowclough said: “My focus will be on the continued build-out of our Bermuda platforms. We have an ambitious road ahead as we refine our capabilities and grow the business, and I am fortunate to be supported by a truly excellent team in doing so.

I am very much looking forward to the challenge and the journey ahead.”
