Horseshoe beefs up its business development team with former BDA exec

Horseshoe has strengthened its business development team for ILS in Bermuda with a new hire.

Jasmine Desilva joins Horseshoe from the Bermuda Business Development Agency (BDA) to be its new senior vice president of ILS strategic initiatives and business development in Bermuda.

At the BDA Desilva was risk and insurance solutions manager. She also spent more than eight years at Sompo International in Bermuda, joining the company in 2010 as an excess casualty underwriter and leaving the company as an assistant vice president.

She has also served as an assistant underwriter at Endurance in Bermuda, a role she held for more than three years. She has also served as a wellness strategist and fitness director at the Bermuda Wellness and Outreach Centre.
