BMS continues to build up its US property business
BMS has named David Cameron as executive vice president for property treaty.
Cameron, who was a senior advisor at Renaissance Re from 2015 to 2019, will take up his post on March 1, 2021, in the Minnesota office, reporting to Pete Chandler, president and chief executive of BMS Re.
He brings 30 years of reinsurance experience to the role, having started his career as a reinsurance broker at EW Blanch in 1989, before joining Guy Carpenter in 2000 and then returning to Benfield Blanch in 2001, where he remained until it became Aon Benfield. He has experience across nearly all lines of business, but is most widely recognised for his role with a variety of property treaty clients.
At BMS he will work closely with Jeff Irvan, chief property officer, and Kirk Conrad, chief analytics officer, to expand product offerings and thought leadership.
BMS has made several senior hires in the US property space, most recently with the appointment of Kevin Gordon as senior vice president in the Chicago office.
Chandler promised BMS will continue to build up its capabilities in this area. “We are client-focused, analytics-driven, and know that exceptional talent creates outstanding results for our partners,” he said.
Cameron pointed to “significant opportunities in the treaty reinsurance space” which he will be keen to take advantage of.
“BMS has an exceptional reputation in the market for its data-driven, client-centric approach, and has been expanding its offering in both the US and globally,” he added.
