Aspen Re reshuffles management team in UK and Asia

Aspen Reinsurance has made a number of appointments in the UK and Asia.

Nick Macfarlane joins AspenRe as head of property treaty in London. He was previously head of international treaty at Asia Capital Re and also held senior underwriting roles at MS Amlin.

He joins the team that is led by Peter Panayi, who is currently on a leave of absence.

Beatrice Morley has been named as Aspen Re’s head of AsiaPac, in addition to her current role as global head of casualty. She remains in Singapore and reports to Christian Dunleavy, Aspen Re’s chief underwriting officer.

She also has been appointed chief executive of the Singapore Branch, subject to approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

Meanwhile, Philip Hough, who was formerly head of AsiaPac, is returning to Zurich after four years in Singapore. He will continue to focus on his role of global head of property, leading the property strategy across Aspen Re. He also continues to report to Dunleavy.

Dunleavy said: “We want Aspen to be a business that not only attracts leading talent but supports those individuals in building long-term and successful careers with us. These appointments are testament to this, further strengthening our global reinsurance leadership team.”
