Lloyd’s CEO Richard Ward has announced his intention to relinquish his role at the end of 2013. With eight years under his belt, Ward is Lloyd’s longest serving CEO. His successor will be appointed before the end of the year.
He said: “this has not been an easy decision to make but I believe it is now right to hand over the reins to someone else to take Lloyd’s into its next chapter.”
John Nelson, chairman, said: “the Lloyd’s market is in a significantly stronger position of that when Richard joined, and he deserves great credit for this, as does the management team. This early announcement allows us to select a successor in a timely manner.”
