Validus appoints vice president for Southeast US property

Validus Holdings, the Bermuda-based holding company for reinsurance and insurance operating firms, has appointed of Rob Halsey as vice president, Atlanta property manager.  In this new role, Halsey will be responsible for building and maintaining the Validus Underwriters excess and surplus property business in the Southeast US and write on behalf of specialist subsidiary Western World.  Halsey joins Validus from Admiral Insurance where he served as a senior underwriter of the excess and surplus commercial property business. He has more than fifteen years of experience in property wholesale brokerage and excess and surplus underwriting in the insurance industry. “Rob has the experience, broker relationships and underwriting philosophy that will help us meet our growth plans for 2016 and beyond,” said Bill Steinberg, head of property brokerage for Validus Underwriters. “His expertise will allow us to build and maintain our client base while expanding our presence in the region. We are thrilled to welcome him to our team.”  Halsey said: “I am excited about the opportunity to join the team, and I look forward to working with my new colleagues to further strengthen Validus’ regional and domestic client base.”
