The BILTIR internship program opens
Bermuda International Long Term Insurers and Reinsurers (BILTIR) is inviting young Bermudians interested in a career in the life and annuities industry to apply for its summer internship programme.
The ten-week intern programmes from 13 June to 19 August involved 12 companies offering paid internships across departments, including underwriting, actuarial, finance, legal, client management and IT.
They are open to Bermudian university or college students studying actuarial science, accounting, investments, finance or law.
The opportunities, available to view on the BILTIR website, include positions at Athora, Argus, Athene, Global Atlantic Re, Hannover Re, Kuvare, Legal & General, Somerset Reinsurance, Sun Life International, Resolution Re, Wilton Re, and Willis Towers Watson.
Last year, a record 26 Bermudians took part in the programme.
“Bermuda has a thriving life and annuities sector, and our member companies can offer young Bermudians a wide range of interesting opportunities,” said BILTIR executive director Christine Patton. “One of BILTIR’s roles is to help develop the next generation of life business talent here in Bermuda, and I would encourage those who are interested to take the first step by applying for an internship with one of our member companies.”
BILTIR represents 73 annuity, life insurance and reinsurance businesses and servicing companies in Bermuda that provide life and annuity products and employ more than 600 people on the island.
