Sompo launches US environmental insurance business, led by Jessica Huhn-Kenzik

Sompo International Holdings has launched a new US insurance environmental unit, and hired Jessica Huhn-Kenzik as senior vice president to lead the new business.

The US insurance environmental unit offers new products and services to augment its existing global risk solutions offerings. New offerings include contractors professional and pollution liability coverage for environmental professionals and consultants, specialty and trade contractors, general contractors and construction managers.

Huhn-Kenzik brings more than 15 years of underwriting management experience to Sompo International. She previously served as part of the team that launched Catlin’s environmental unit, and most recently led Pioneer Underwriters’ environmental liability business.

Huhn-Kenzik reports to Christopher Sparro, chief executive of US insurance at Sompo. She is based in Conshohocken, PA.

Sparro said: “[Huhn-Kenzik] has extensive experience as a technical underwriter and practicing attorney who has focused her career on serving clients in this class of business.”
