Sompo aims to boost general aviation

Bermuda-based specialty P&C re/insurer Sompo International Holdings has hired Peter Buckley to boost its general aviation offering. He joins as vice president for aerospace.

Buckley has over 20 years’ experience in the industry as an underwriter in the UK and Singapore, most recently as aviation underwriter for Cincinnati Global Underwriting in London. Before that, he was at Catlin, and he started his career at Beaufort Underwriting Agency.

Buckley trained as a commercial pilot and holds a bachelor of engineering in avionics from the University of London.
