Oceanview appoints former Athene Life Re exec as president

Oceanview Reinsurance, a Bermuda Class E insurance company, has appointed Stelian Dragan as president and chief business development officer.

Dragan is based in Hamilton, Bermuda, and will be responsible for directing the business development activities of Oceanview Re.

Dragan has over 18 years of experience in the life and annuity industry, acting in various roles across reinsurance, capital markets and equity research. He was one of the early employees of Athene Life Re, where he led marketing and business development efforts.

Prior to Athene Life Re, Dragan served as the chief operating officer at Tiriac Holding, a European family office with over €1.5 billion in assets under management across insurance, banking, leasing, real estate and private aviation.

He has also held client coverage positions at Bear Stearns as part of the Strategic Finance Group and at Deutsche Bank in Debt Capital Markets and Equity Research.
