
Monument Re CEO steps down
Life re/insurer Monument Re chief executive officer Manfred Maske has resigned from the company after six years in the role.
Maske, whose departure took effect on September 19, is being replaced at the head of the Bermuda-based company by group chief financial officer Carlo Elsinghorst.
Jonathan Yates, chairman of Monument Re, said: “Manfred joined Monument Re Group in February 2017, when the company was a relatively new venture. Over six years of dedicated service, Manfred has played an integral role in creating the market leading business that it is today.
“Together with the senior leadership team, I would like to thank Manfred for his leadership, commitment, dedication and invaluable contribution to the creation of the Monument Re Group. We wish Manfred the best of success in his future endeavours”.
Elsinghorst joined Monument Re in 2020 as CEO Ireland and was appointed Group CFO in April 2022.
The company said: “During his time at Monument, Carlo successfully led the Irish team through a series of domestic acquisitions and the growing maturity of the organisation and in his role as group CFO has held responsibility for financial and actuarial reporting and operations, treasury, tax, performance management and capital management.”
Monument Re is based in Bermuda and also operates through its subsidiaries in Belgium, Ireland, Isle of Man and Luxembourg, with branches in Spain, Italy, Guernsey, Singapore and Germany.
