Max Capital exec joins Mt. Logan Re

Bermuda-based Mt. Logan Re, Everest Re’s special purpose reinsurer, has strengthened its board of directors.

Dave Brining joins as non-executive independent director. Brining was most recently executive vice president of Max Capital Group and a director of Max Bermuda.

He was a founding member of the company and assisted with its capital raising initiatives and its ultimate listing on the New York Stock Exchange. Brining was responsible for the property & casualty underwriting operations of the company.

From 1988 to 1999, Brining worked at Scandinavian Reinsurance, a company which he co-founded. He held the position of chief financial officer between 1988 and 1994, and executive vice president, between 1994 and 1999.

Brining was vice president and controller at GTE Reinsurance, between 1984 and 1988, and was responsible for the supervision of staff in the areas of accounting, financial planning, financial reporting and information systems.
