Marsh appoints chief marketing and communications officer

Marsh has announced the appointment of Kristie Bouryal as its chief marketing and communications officer, effective immediately.

Based in New York, Bouryal will report directly to Joe McSweeny, president of global sales, with an additional reporting line to Ed Dandridge, chief communications officer of Marsh & McLennan Companies.

Bouryal joins Marsh from Nielsen, where she most recently served as senior vice president of global corporate communications. In this role, she acted as the company’s chief corporate spokesperson and communications lead globally, in addition to overseeing everything from strategic communications planning, to issues management, to press relations.

Prior to her tenure at Nielsen, Bouryal worked at The Associated Press and ABC News.

In her new role at Marsh, Bouryal will focus on developing corporate marketing and communication programs and materials that support the firm’s strategic imperatives and operating principles. She will also advise on and guide the internal and external communications of the CEO and other senior executives.

Commenting on the appointment, McSweeny says: “Kristie is an award-winning marketing, communications, and media executive with an impressive track record of success as a leader of fast-paced global operations. I am delighted to have someone as talented and experienced as Kristie to lead this function through the next evolution as we continue to develop innovative solutions that meet our clients’ rapidly evolving needs.”
