Ironshore develops architects & engineers offering

Ironshore has boosted its ability to accommodate for architects and engineers as it begins to provide project specific policies for contractor design firms.

The initiative will be led by Valerie Onderka, who brings more than 30 years’ experience to Ironshore and will be based in its Atlanta office. She will underwrite these project specific policies in addition to professional liability policies for contractor design firms with the collaborative, specialised expertise of Ironshore’s US specialty casualty unit and IronPro, its professional liability management unit.

Most recently, Onderka was the US and Canada product line manager for architects & engineers professional liability at Lexington Insurance Company.

“Valerie’s contributions to Ironshore’s A&E team will enhance the breadth of products we can now offer construction clients to manage specific design firm project risk,” said Ben Beauvais, executive vice president of specialty casualty and construction.

Greg Flood, president of IronPro, added: “IronPro has been providing design firm and contractors design firm professional liability coverage since 2008. Expanding Ironshore’s products to include project liability within our casualty group is a material step forward to round out Ironshore’s support for architects and engineers and the construction industry. We’re very pleased that Valerie and her team have joined Ironshore and look forward to their skilled contributions to the segment.”
