Hamilton Re appoints new reinsurance CEO

Bermuda-based Hamilton Insurance Group has appointed Kathleen Reardon as CEO of its Class 4 property casualty reinsurer, Hamilton Re.

Reardon, formerly Hamilton Re’s chief underwriting officer, was one of the founding members of the company and will lead the group’s reinsurance business.

Tim Duffin will take over as chief underwriting officer and Claude Lefebvre now has an expanded role as the firm’s chief underwriting officer, casualty and specialty, says the company.

Commenting on Reardon’s appointment, Brian Duperreault, CEO of Hamilton Insurance Group says: “I’m delighted to announce Kathleen’s well-deserved promotion. She is a consummate professional who has earned the respect and admiration of our clients, shareholders and employees for her astute business acumen, deep industry knowledge and collegial working style.”

“It’s my pleasure to entrust Hamilton Re to Kathleen, and I look forward to working with her as she continues to build on the success of our reinsurance business.”

Duperreault adds: “both Tim and Claude are indicative of Hamilton Re’s significant bench strength and the talented team of underwriters that continues to distinguish this company,” said Mr. Duperreault.
