Hamilton Re appoints claims head

Bermuda-headquartered Hamilton Insurance Group has Kylie Tomas as senior vice president, claims counsel and head of claims for Hamilton Re. She will manage both the insurance and reinsurance claims teams and oversee all claims matters for Hamilton Re.

Tomas joins from Sompo International, where she spent nearly 12 years, most recently in Alpharetta, Georgia in the US, as Vice President, claims counsel and head of US financial institutions claims. She began her tenure at Sompo in Bermuda, however. Before that, she was with Liberty International Underwriters (now Liberty Specialty Markets) in Australia and New York.

Tomas will report to Hamilton Re CEO Megan Thomas, who welcomed the appointment: “As we further build out our Bermuda platform in line with Hamilton’s strategy of building a global, diversified specialty insurance and reinsurance organisation, the addition of Kylie to our team reflects our investment in superior talent and our commitment to meeting the needs of our clients.”
