Hamilton MGA Americas appoints Secor as head of professional liability

Jamie Secor has been appointed as head of professional liability insurance at Hamilton Managing General Agency Americas (HMGAA), Hamilton Insurance Group’s US MGA.

Secor assumes responsibility for developing the US errors and omissions (E&O) insurance book of business, leveraging Hamilton Insurance DAC, its platform supporting US excess and surplus (E&S) lines. She reports to Clay Rhoades, president of HMGAA.

Secor was previously at Kinsale Insurance Company. She has over 20 years of underwriting and senior management experience to her new role, and at Kinsale was a founding member of the professional liability team, before becoming leader of its commercial property division. She began her underwriting career in 2000 at State Farm Insurance before moving to James River Insurance in 2004, concluding her time there as an E&O product line manager.

HMGAA said Secor will build up the E&O team and a book that will target surplus lines accounts for small and mid-size entities that may be hard to place. This includes E&O for architects, engineers, law firms, insurance agents and brokers, and other E&O classes of business.

Rhoades said: “With strong client relationships and a history of writing and managing profitable books of business, [Secor] will be integral to our continued expansion into the US E&S market."
