Hamilton appoints managing agency CFO

The managing agency of Lloyd’s Syndicate 3334 and the Lloyd’s operations of Hamilton Insurance Group, Hamilton Underwriting, has appointed a former XL executive as chief financial officer (CFO).

Simon Barrett joins from XL Group after serving at the company for 12 years. At XL Group he was

responsible for developing and communicating strategic and annual business plans, monitoring financial results against those plans, and providing advice and input on new business initiatives.

Barrett will report to managing agency chief executive officer Dermot O’Donohoe.

O’Donohoe said: “I’m pleased to welcome Simon to our team at Hamilton Underwriting. He joins us in a newly established role, one that will be critical to our success in establishing a profitable, diversified Lloyd’s syndicate.

“I know his breadth of experience and depth of knowledge will be a valuable asset as we continue to develop our platform at Lloyd’s.”
