Former Tokio Solution boss joins Willis Towers Watson

Willis Towers Watson has appointed Susan Lane as director, consulting and development for North America and senior captive consultant, part of the company’s global captive practice.

She joins Willis Towers Watson from Tokio Solution Management where she was co-chief executive officer.

Lane will be responsible for driving strategy and business development across the company’s captive consulting business in North America, while delivering the full scope of captive capabilities to clients.

She will also collaborate across other Willis Towers Watson business segments and product lines, including alternative risk financing, Willis Towers Watson Securities and risk consulting services, to develop innovative risk financing solutions for clients across a range of portfolios.

She will be based in Bermuda and report to Sean Rider, managing director, consulting and development, Global Captive practice.

“Susan is a proven leader with outstanding credibility in the captive and insurance-linked securities marketplaces. We’re confident she will help us deliver innovative and cutting-edge risk transfer solutions to help our clients manage their business in today’s environment,” said Rider.

Prior to joining Tokio Solutions Management, Lane held a variety of leadership positions at Aon and Aon Insurance Managers.
