Fidelis MGU has promoted Ben Fortune to chief underwriting officer of its Bermuda operation effective immediately.
In his new role, Fortune will be responsible for overseeing all books of business written out of Bermuda as well as managing the company’s Bermudian based team of underwriters.
He has more than 16 years of industry experience and joined Fidelis in 2015 as an underwriter, later becoming head of International Reinsurance in 2020. Prior to moving to underwriting, Fortune spent several years as an actuarial analyst, holding roles at Leadenhall Capital Partners, Aon and Lockton.
