Everest Re appoints chief administrative officer

Bermuda re/insurer Everest Re has named Bill Thygeson as chief administration officer of Everest Insurance.

Thygeson will report to Jonathan Zaffino, president, Everest Insurance. He joins the firm from Hamilton Insurance, where he most recently served as chief operating officer, overseeing the build out of the US insurance platform and had direct responsibility for a variety of operational and administrative functions.

Thygeson is responsible for several facets of the company’s operational platform with a core focus on technology and its impact on our business processes for underwriting and claims, and will also assume a variety of administrative functions.

Prior to his time at Hamilton, Thygeson spent a decade working for AIG in similar operational capacities and began his career in the banking industry.

Zaffino said: “As we continue to expand our insurance operations, in both size and complexity, we need to ensure that our operational infrastructure keeps pace with the trajectory of our underwriting portfolio.

Bill’s background is uniquely qualified to lead our operational transformation initiatives focused on building best-in-class support capabilities for our growing business.”
