Collateralised re specialist joins Brit Bermuda property reinsurance team

Specialty re/insurer Brit has appointed Kristina Maffit to the property reinsurance team for Brit Global Specialty Bermuda (BGSB) as vice president.

She will be based in Brit's Bermuda office and will report to Nick Davies, president of Brit Americas.

Maffit previously served as a portfolio management associate at alternative investment manager Elementum, a position she held for six years. She specifically specialised in collateralised natural catastrophe reinsurance investments.

Prior to that, she was involved in the implementation of collateralised reinsurance programmes as a business analyst at Validus-owned AlphaCat and Validus Reinsurance.

“Kristina is highly respected in the Bermuda market and her skill set is a great fit with Brit’s strong underwriting track-record," said Davies.

"We look forward to her helping us further develop our property reinsurance portfolio, working closely with our existing teams in Bermuda, London and the US”.
