Arch appoints Gaurav Sharma as CIO

Arch Insurance International has appointed Gaurav Sharma as chief information officer, tasking him with advancing its technology modernisation agenda and supporting sustainable business growth.

Sharma (pictured) takes up the role with immediate effect and will lead the execution of Arch’s technology transformation initiatives. Based in London, he reports to chief operating officer Ketan Motwani.

Sharma brings more than 25 years of experience leading technology functions and large-scale transformation. He joins Arch from Axa Health, where he was head of technology, and has previously held senior technology roles at RSA Insurance UK, Zurich Insurance and Aspen Re.

Motwani said: “Sharma brings extensive experience across architecture, technology delivery and service management, making him ideally placed to lead the next phase of our technology strategy. He will play a central role in delivering modernisation of our infrastructure that’s critical to support sustainable growth, underwriting excellence, technology resilience and an outstanding customer experience.”
