Chubb Bermuda names financial lines head

Property and casualty re/insurer Chubb Bermuda has appointed Richard Porter as senior vice president, head of financial lines.

Based in Bermuda, Porter will be responsible for leading the financial lines division, which covers directors and officers liability, cyber, transactional risk, errors and omissions, and employment practices liability.

He will report to Judy Gonsalves, vice president of Chubb Group and division president, Chubb Bermuda.

Porter has over 20 years of both US and international industry experience, and previously served as general counsel for Chubb Bermuda. In this role he oversaw legal  and compliance matters for the company and served as counsel to the underwriting teams in financial lines, excess liability, and property.

He joined Chubb in 2011 as associate general counsel. Prior to Chubb Bermuda, he was a partner with Wilson Elser in New York, where he worked for ten years.
