Cayman reinsurer taps Bermuda market veteran

A veteran of five Bermuda start-ups has joined Cayman Islands-domiciled TopSail Re.

RobLee Womack (pictured) will be senior vice president of underwriting, where his responsibilities will include underwriting, marketing, and account management for TopSail, which has offices in Greenville, South Carolina.

Womack has spent the past 20 years leading and building teams of underwriters for short tail property lines while assisting in the development and build out of five Bermuda start-ups, the company said.

These included Qatar Re, Pulsar Re, Argo, PXRe and Endurance Speciality.

He previously was a reinsurance underwriter in professional liability, long tail casualty lines, property, and catastrophe.

Womack said: “Topsail Re has a unique mindset, with strong client commitment supported by smart experienced actuaries and seasoned underwriting leadership. I am excited to join this growing, profitable reinsurance organisation.”
