Brit hires Everest and IFG execs to spearhead liability team

Speciality re/insurer Brit has hired the former CUO of IFG and a former Everest National Insurance exec to launch a new general liability team for Brit Global Specialty USA.

Steve Courchaine, a former CUO of IFG, joins as senior vice president. He will be joined by former Everest National (the primary division of Everest Re) man Peter Canna as vice president, underwriting. Canna is a former colleague of Courchaine.

The move extends Brit Global Specialty USA’s property and specialty package offering to include the monoline casualty market.

Courchaine will write excess & surplus general liability on a primary and excess basis targeting, manufacturing, construction and premises risk through wholesale brokers.
