Brit appoints Andrew Thorn and Alex Brice to its private client team

Brit has appointed Andrew Thorn as a senior underwriter and Alex Brice as an underwriter in its recently launched private client team.

Thorn joins from Chubb where he was most recently technical account manager, overseeing the performance of the independent broker team and leading on high-value accounts. Before Chubb he was at A Plan Insurance.

Brice was previously at Hiscox, where he spent over ten years, most recently as a senior development underwriter, focusing on high net worth homes, motor and overseas properties.

Matthew Wilson, Brit’s chief executive, said the private client business has generated good momentum since its launch. “We have ambitions to grow into a meaningful player in this space and the further growth of the team through these new hires supports this,” he said.

Tara Parchment, head of private clients, added: “We want to differentiate Brit private client through the level of service we provide and our ability to create truly bespoke solutions for clients. Having a strong team is crucial to this.”
