BDA to host cyber webinar in partnership with NetDiligence

The Bermuda Business Development Agency (BDA) will host a virtual panel discussion to discuss the growth of cyber crime and the resulting demand for cyber insurance.

The event, titled Bermuda Cyber Market: A Jurisdiction Built on Stability and Innovation, will take place on March 4, 2021, as part of NetDiligence’s three-part webinar series about cyber-related issues.

The panel will be moderated by Suzanne Williams-Charles, director of policy and regulation, corporate secretary and data privacy officer at the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers (ABIR).

Panelists include Donavan Burgess, associate vice president of cyber and professional liability at AXA XL; Aritra Chatterjee, chief underwriting officer at Envelop Risk; Emma Norman, associate vice president for cyber risk solutions at Aon; and Sarah Spurling, senior vice president for professional lines Bermuda at Sompo International.

Jasmine DeSilva, business development manager for risk and insurance solutions at the BDA, said: “Cyber risk management is more important now than ever and, as one of the world’s most important insurance and reinsurance hubs with a track-record of providing innovative solutions, the Bermuda market is well-placed to meet the growing demand for coverage.”
