AXIS Re names head of Lloyd’s casualty reinsurance

AXIS Re, the reinsurance arm of AXIS Capital Holdings, has named Joe Sweeting as head of Lloyd’s casualty reinsurance.

Sweeting assumes responsibility for managing all aspects of AXIS Re’s casualty business at Lloyd’s, including portfolio strategy, new and renewal production activity and distribution development from reinsurance intermediaries.

Sweeting joins AXIS from Vibe Syndicate 5678, where he spent more than three years as a casualty treaty class underwriter. Before that he was at Hiscox Syndicate 33 where he was head of casualty reinsurance. He has also worked as a casualty underwriter for Amlin Syndicate 2001.
