AXIS Re hires Guy Carpenter broker for Canada role

AXIS Re has appointed former Guy Carpenter reinsurance broker Jessica Coburn  to head reinsurance underwriting in Canada. 

AXIS Re, a subsidiary of Bermuda-based AXIS Capital, said Coburn will be responsible for representing AXIS Re in the Canadian market and driving the growth of the Canadian reinsurance portfolio for AXIS Re. She will report to AXIS Re President, North America Jason Busti.

Coburn was vice president and a treaty reinsurance broker at Guy Carpenter in Toronto between October 2020 and November, 2023. 

She was previously assistant vice president and senior casualty facultative underwriter at Gen Re. She is a Queen’s University graduate in economics and biology. 

She was also the chair of the Young Insurance Professionals of Toronto from 2014 to 2023.
