Ascot subsidiary appoints new CEO
Ascot Group’s US MGU platform Ethos Specialty Insurance Services has appointed Rory Cline as president and chief executive officer (CEO).
Cline will be moving over from his current role as chief underwriting officer, having joined Ethos Specialty at inception in 2017. Prior to this, Rory served as President of Ascot Specialty US, a position he held since 2009. In a career that has spanned over 35 years, he has held a number of senior management positions in both primary insurance and reinsurance including being the founding CEO of MGU, DirectFac, in 2004.
Cline will report in to Jerry Tegan who has recently taken on a wider Ascot Group role as executive chairman US.
“Rory has been a long-standing employee of Ascot and understands our values and the culture we have,” said Andrew Brooks, Ascot Group CEO. “Since joining Ethos at its foundation last year, he and the team have done an excellent job taking the company from a start-up MGU platform to a serious player in the market – he’s the right person to lead them in to their next phase of development.
“I look forward to Rory being an essential part of Jerry Tegan’s team in growing Ascot Group in the US.”
