Argo creates new Latin America position
Argo Group International Holdings has announced that Manuel Moreno has been appointed to the new position of chief underwriting officer of Latin America, effective immediately.
“Manuel is an exceptional individual with the skills to support Argo in our ongoing expansion in Latin America,” said Jorge Cazar, head of Latin America at Argo Group, who Moreno will report to. “Our operations in the region have grown as we continuously identify opportunities to expand our footprint in this market. Manuel’s experience will prove invaluable, and I look forward to working with him.”
Moreno will be responsible for the strategy and execution of all underwriting operations within the Latin America market.
Moreno is an industry veteran and previously worked at Willis Towers Watson as energy regional industry leader for Latin America. Prior to that, he served as vice president of energy and engineered risk of AIG's Latin America operations.
During his career, Moreno has held several other managerial positions in the region, including energy director for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean for AIG; property, energy and marine manager for the Colombian market at AIG; and facultative property and energy director for the Colombian market at Aon Benfield.
