Arch continues to expand contingency business

Arch Insurance International, part of the Arch Capital Group, has appointed Tom Stoyle as senior underwriter for contingency. Starting on November 24, he joins from Hiscox, where he was a contingency underwriter.

The appointment is part of Arch’s continuing expansion of its contingency team, which operates across multiple sectors, such as event organisers, media companies, broadcasters, advertising agencies and sponsors. Coverage includes event cancellation, non-appearance, weather, terrorism and political violence for events, prize indemnity, film production and advertising agency protection. Arch also recently became part of the UK Government Scheme for Live Events, which began in September and provides cover for live events, including music events, sports events and trade shows.

Stoyle’s appointment follows that of Chris Rackliffe. He joined last month as head of contingency and accident and health from Beazley, where he held the same role. Stoyle will also work with senior underwriter Claire Atley, another Beazely recruit, who joined Arch in April.

Rackliffe said: “We are delighted that Tom will join our highly experienced contingency team as we continue to bolster our presence in the sector. We are well-positioned to further support our brokers by working collaboratively to deliver informed solutions, backed by responsive service and supported by a highly experienced claims team.”
