02-06-2014

Evan Greenberg, the chairman and CEO of ACE, is leading a delegation of CEO’s on a US-ASEAN business council visit to the Philippines and Vietnam.

Penny Pritzker, US commerce secretary, is travelling with the delegation to Manila and Hanoi.

The goals of the trip include highlighting the robust growth prospects of south-east Asia and promoting two-way trade and investment that will benefit US companies as well as position the US as an attractive market for fast-growing ASEAN businesses.

Greenberg, who is chairman of the US-ASEAN business council, will be accompanied by the CEO’s of a diverse group of other US-based corporations.

The delegation will engage with government leaders in both countries, including expected meetings with Benigno Aquino III, president of the Philippines, H.E. Truong Tan San, president of Vietnam, and H.E. Nguyen Tan Dung, prime minister of Vietnam.

“The ongoing and direct engagement of US CEOs with ASEAN's public and private sector leaders is vitally important to exchanging views, identifying common objectives and expanding opportunities for two-way trade and investment." says Greenberg.

He continues, “We are honoured that secretary Pritzker is joining us on this mission. Our delegation is looking forward to an engaging dialogue with leaders in both Vietnam and the Philippines.”
