Katie Partington Howarth and Adria Da Breo Richards join WiRe's board of directors

The Women in Reinsurance (WiRe) Bermuda, a group that encourages the development and promotion of women within the marketplace, has welcomed two new members to its board of directors.

Katie Partington Howarth brings over 25 years of distinguished local and international experience in the global reinsurance industry and, currently, serves as chief capital officer at Ariel Re in Bermuda.

Throughout her career, she has held senior leadership roles across insurance, reinsurance and brokerage organisations worldwide. Her expertise spans underwriting, capital management, portfolio strategy and risk solutions, where she has consistently driven innovation and strong performance.

In her current role, Partington Howarth offers a unique perspective on how capital investment intersects with reinsurance strategy in the global economic landscape.

Partington Howarth is actively engaged in mentoring and community initiatives, including BFIS and ILS Bermuda College, and serves as executive sponsor of the Ariel Re Charity Committee.

Partington Howarth said: “I am truly honoured to join the WiRe board and look forward to supporting the development and advancement of women across the reinsurance sector. As a lifelong learner, I am excited to be surrounded by emerging and diverse talent that drives innovation.”

Adria Da Breo Richards is a respected industry leader with deep expertise in global property catastrophe underwriting. She currently serves as senior vice president, global head of property catastrophe – assumed retrocessional and global clients at RenaissanceRe in Bermuda.

During her tenure, she has held various roles across underwriting, finance and capital management. In her current role, Da Breo Richards drives strategic, client-focused engagement across RenaissanceRe’s global property cat relationships.
