Hiscox reshapes reinsurance arm, creates capital partners unit

Hiscox has rebranded its Hiscox Re & ILS division as Hiscox Re and launched a new subsidiary, Hiscox Capital Partners, to oversee its third-party capital business, including insurance-linked securities and catastrophe bonds.

The relaunch provides a clearer and more streamlined way of presenting product offerings to cedants, brokers, institutional investors and re/insurance partners, the reinsurer said. 

Hiscox Re comprises Hiscox Group’s reinsurance business and capital partner platform, Hiscox Capital Partners. Reinsurance is written through both Bermuda and London, with a focus on property and specialty risks.

Meanwhile, Hiscox Capital Partners brings capital activity under a single structure led by Liz Breeze, who has been at Hiscox for over 14 years, most recently as a CFO of Hiscox Re. 

Ex-Hiscox ILS managing principal Vincent Prabis will be managing principal of Hiscox Capital Partners, bringing extensive experience in capital solutions and long-standing relationships across the investor community.
