Hamilton’s underwriting arm names Cormican active syndicate underwriter

Hamilton Global Specialty, the underwriting division of Hamilton Insurance Group, has named Sinead Cormican (pictured) as active underwriter of Syndicate 4000, as part of its leadership restructuring at Lloyd’s.

Cormican will report to Miles Osorio, who remains chief underwriting officer of Hamilton Global Specialty.

She has served as deputy active underwriter for four years, before which she was head of property D&F for two years. Cormican has over 20 years of underwriting experience.

Sukh Chana and Mark Johnson have been appointed as joint deputy active underwriters. Chana will continue his role as head of financial institutions and Johnson as head of property D&F. 

With over 20 years of insurance industry experience, Chana has served as head of financial institutions at Hamilton for over five years, having joined during the company’s 2019 acquisition of Pembroke.

Johnson has 20 years of insurance industry experience and has served as head of property D&F for four years, with a total of 10 years at Hamilton.

Trevor Ormes currently serves as deputy active underwriter and head of professional lines for Syndicate 4000 and will be retiring on April 30.

Daws added: “We are grateful to Trevor for his many contributions during his four years with Hamilton and wish him well in his retirement following an impressive 40 years in the industry.”
