Gallagher Re strengthens Bermuda platform with the appointment of Scott Cobon

Global reinsurance broker and advisory firm Gallagher Re has recruited Scott Cobon from Artex to take up the role of head of strategic solutions in Bermuda, as the firm continues to build out its presence and growth strategy in the region.

Cobon, reporting to head of Bermuda Ben Radford, will focus on the expansion of Gallagher Re’s Bermuda platform, enhancing its global offerings through capital structuring and investor engagement.

Already a valued member of the Gallagher family, Cobon joins from Artex, where he has held a variety of senior positions, most recently servicing as managing director, insurance management services, and has a proven track record of client relationship management, strategic leadership, and cross-regional and divisional collaboration.

Cobon’s appointment is part of a wider investment in the Bermuda platform following the recent appointments of Andrew Phelan as chairman global credit, surety (excluding US) and political risk, and the hiring of Rachel Barnes as a senior property retro broker.

Radford said: “Scott is highly experienced and will be a real asset as we strengthen our capabilities in Bermuda. As well as facilitating interactions between Bermuda re/insurance firms, investors, and other industry participants, Scott’s background means we will be able to foster greater collaboration with the wider Gallagher global network, including Artex.
