Bermuda-based specialty re/insurer Fidelis Insurance Holdings has strengthened its actuarial leadership by appointing Shane O’Donovan as group chief actuary, tasked with optimising capital allocation across underwriting to support the firm’s long-term strategic goals.
Shane O’Donovan steps up from his role as Ireland head of actuarial function, responsible for leading Fidelis Insurance Group’s actuarial strategy and strengthening the enterprise-wide risk framework.
O’Donovan has over 15 years of actuarial experience, having served in his most recent role since 2020, based in Dublin. He will now oversee actuarial capabilities globally, continuing to report into Jonny Strickle, group managing director.
Strickle said, “I am delighted to announce Shane’s well-deserved promotion to group chief actuary. This promotion recognises Shane’s significant contributions over the past five years, not only within the actuarial function but also across the broader business. He has played a key role in advancing our strategic objectives and has been instrumental in building out our actuarial capabilities.”
