Everest hires Jason Busti to head North America treaty reinsurance

Jason Busti has joined Everest as head of North America treaty reinsurance, taking responsibility for the company’s treaty portfolio across the US, Bermuda and Canada as it looks to strengthen its position in a competitive regional market. Busti joins from AXIS Re, where he served as president of North America, and previously spent 22 years at Swiss Re in underwriting and sales leadership roles.

Busti has been named head of North America treaty reinsurance, where he will lead the division’s treaty reinsurance business across the US, Bermuda and Canada. He will report to Jill Beggs, executive vice president and chief executive officer of reinsurance, and join her leadership team.

Busti joins Everest from Axis Re, where he served as president of North America, overseeing treaty reinsurance operations across the same regions. Prior to that, he spent more than 20 years at Swiss Re in a range of senior leadership roles, including managing director and client executive, leading client management and broker market underwriting teams across global portfolios.

Beggs said: “Jason is a highly respected leader with a deep understanding of the North American reinsurance market and a proven track record of building strong client partnerships. His extensive experience managing large treaty portfolios and longstanding relationships with clients and brokers across the industry make him exceptionally well positioned to lead our North America business.”
