Emotional intelligence expert to speak at Bermuda WiRe gala

Leading women in Bermuda insurance will get new insights into how to bring emotional intelligence, and empathy into the woirkplace at their annual gala.  

Author Sylvia Baffour (pictured, right) will give the keynote address at the Bermuda Women in Reinsurance Gala on March 7, Bermuda Women in Reinssurance announced.

The annual dinner and awards ceremony takes place on international Women’s Day at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess.

The event celebrates the role of women in Bermuda's reinsurance industry and will also honour a key contributor to the industry with the 2025 Woman of the Year Award.

Baffour, author of I Dare You to Care and innovator of the Dare to CareTM EI Framework will give the keynote speech. She has worked with organisations including The World Bank to make EI a tangible tool for employees to use to navigate relationships and conflict, embrace change and enhance working environments, WiRe said.

The Woman of the Year award commemorates a reinsurance professional that has made an outstanding contribution to both the success of her company and the ongoing development of other professionals. Last year’s winner was Athene Bermuda chief executive officer Natasha Scotland Courcy.
