Cathryn Minors, Arielle DeSilva and Ryan Taylor promoted at Appleby

Bermuda-based law firm Appleby has promoted Cathryn Minors to partner, Arielle DeSilva to counsel and Ryan Taylor to senior associate, strengthening its re/insurance, corporate and disputes capabilities in Bermuda.

Minors advises on insurance and reinsurance matters spanning life insurance securitisations, catastrophe bonds, special purpose insurers and long-term and general business re/insurers. Her practice also covers corporate structuring, governance, regulatory capital issuances, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and licensing advice.

DeSilva focuses on corporate and commercial matters across Bermuda entities, with experience in multi-jurisdictional finance and fund finance transactions, including fund structures investing in insurance-linked securities.

Taylor specialises in international arbitration and complex cross-border disputes, with experience in contentious insurance matters and high-value financial disputes. Prior to joining Appleby, he worked at a corporate securities litigation firm in Toronto and gained in-house experience at one of Canada’s largest insurers.

Brad Adderley, managing partner and head of Appleby’s corporate practice in Bermuda, said: “These promotions recognise exceptional lawyers, each making a significant contribution to Appleby and the high standards we set for excellence in our work and client delivery. Through their technical expertise, professionalism and commitment to quality, each consistently delivers outstanding work for our clients while also strengthening their teams through collaboration and collegiality. We are proud to recognise their achievements and look forward to their continued growth and impact.”
