Carrick bolsters strategic outlook with senior hires Alex Smith and Aidan Mills
Bermuda-based international non-life legacy insurer Carrick Group has begun the year with two senior appointments, naming Alex Smith as senior vice president of operations in London and Aidan Mills as vice president of M&A in Bermuda.
Smith (pictured left), as SVP of Operations, joins equipped with distribution, capacity and consultancy chops, most recently working with the PoloWorks and MarcoCapital to set up a Lloyd’s Syndicate. He started his career at Aviva, and has previously worked at companies such as Amlin, Liberty Syndicates, Brit, Swiss Re, Dale Underwriting, Liberty Specialty Markets, Pen Underwriting, and Mission Underwriters.
Mills (pictured right), as VP of M&A, joins from Chubb, Bermuda, where he held the position of Assistant Vice President. He started his career with Deloitte in Sydney, Australia, and previously worked in Bermuda for Allianz and Axa XL.
