BF&M adds group chief counsel to group executive

BF&M has promoted group general counsel and chief compliance officer Gemma Rochelle to be executive vice president. She has also joined the Bermuda insurer's group executive committee.

Abigail Clifford, group president and CEO, said: “Gemma joined the company in 2019 and has made significant contributions, proving herself to be an invaluable member of our leadership team. Her strategic guidance and expertise have played a pivotal role in our achievements to date, and Gemma’s appointment to our group executive committee reflects both her dedication and the confidence we have in her ability to help lead BF&M forward.”

Rochelle joined BF&M as associate general counsel in 2019 and was promoted to group general counsel in 2021. She added the role of chief compliance officer to her responsibilities in 2022. 

Previously she was a solicitor at the law firm of Anthony Nolan in London and a senior associate at Mayer Brown, also in London. She also as an in-house counsel at HSBC and Barclays Investment Bank.
