Axis names former Everest EVP Anthony Izzo chief commercial officer

Axis has named former Everest senior executive Anthony Izzo (pictured) as chief commercial officer, bringing experience across underwriting, broking and distribution to lead its global commercial strategy as it looks to expand its specialty market presence.

In the role, Izzo will oversee Axis’s global commercial strategy, working with underwriting and regional leadership teams to strengthen broker and partner engagement, support profitable growth and advance the company’s multi-variant distribution strategy.

Izzo joins Axis with 35 years of industry experience. Most recently, he served as executive vice president and group chief commercial officer at Everest, where he was responsible for commercial strategy, enterprise-wide growth and client relationships.

Before Everest, he held senior leadership positions at Guy Carpenter, TransRe, Aon Benfield and Willis Re.

Izzo will report to president and chief executive officer Vince Tizzio and will be based between the company’s Red Bank and New York offices.
