Ariel Re appoints chief analytics officer to boost capabilities
Bermuda-based reinsurer Ariel Re has appointed Apryle Oswald as chief analytics officer. In the new role, she will lead a team providing analytics to promote superior underwriting capabilities, according to the company.
Based in Bermuda, she will also support Ariel Re’s global data management and governance, research and develop new data analytics capabilities. She will leverage its proprietary portfolio software system to service clients, regulators and investors, it added.
Apryle joins from reinsurance risk specialist investment manager Nephila Capital, where she was a portfolio manager. Before that, she was with Renaissance Reinsurance as vice president of Underwriting. She is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and Chartered Financial Analyst.
“We are delighted to welcome Apryle to this new position,” said Ariel Re CEO Ryan Mather. “Apryle brings a wealth of experience and tremendous knowledge of the market, which will complement the skills of the strong analytics team we already have in place.
“The appointment of a chief analytics officer reflects our ambition to embed and co-ordinate analytics across all lines of business we write, underlining its importance as a core foundation for our future success.”
