Arch International taps Aon for UK COO

Arch Insurance International has tapped the former chief operating officer for commercial risk of Aon UK to be its UK COO. 

Ketan Motwani takes up the role immediately and will report to Hugh Sturgess, chief executive officer for Arch Insurance International, a subsidiary of Bermuda-based Arch Capital. 

Arch said Motwani will be responsible for overseeing key UK functions, including underwriting operations, process and operational excellence, and strategic portfolio management. 

At Aon UK, Motwani was responsible for transformation, service delivery, operations, and digital platforms. Prior to joining Aon, he held senior roles at Deloitte focused on insurance strategy, operations, and technology.

Sturgess said: “Ketan brings an exceptional breadth of expertise to the role and considerable experience in all aspects of operational and performance enhancement.  As Arch looks to build on the substantial market success we have achieved in recent years, he will have a central role in ensuring we maintain a fully optimised operating model across every aspect of our organisation.”
