Walkers appoints Ellison to Bermuda office
Walkers has appointed Bermudian Jack Ellison as a senior associate in its Bermuda office.
The former underwriter for Amlin and Brit was previously an associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher (UK) London working in the corporate insurance and financial services team.
Ellison, a former Bermuda rugby international, advised large multinational (re)insurance groups with a Bermuda nexus on high profile strategic M&A projects and restructurings at Willkie Farr.
He also provided advice on a variety of ILS transactions spanning collateralised reinsurance, sidecars and catastrophe bonds.
His areas of specialisation at Walkers are insurance linked securities (ILS), mergers and acquisitions, intra-group reorganisations, equity and debt financings, corporate governance and re/insurance regulation.
Walkers’ head of insurance in Bermuda Sarah Demerling said: “As we continue to grow our top tier insurance practice in the Bermuda office, we’re very excited to have Jack join us to complement our global (re) insurance offering.
“In particular, given his recent onshore ILS experience and his industry background in general, he is a great addition to the team.”
