Steering committee hails success of latest ILS Convergence event
The annual ILS Convergence event, held from 13–15 October 2025, united 365 delegates from nine countries for three days of thought leadership, innovation and collaboration across the insurance-linked securities (ILS) sector.
Hosted in Bermuda, the world’s leading hub for ILS and alternative risk transfer, the event attracted a diverse mix of investors, asset managers, reinsurers, regulators and industry leaders. Attendees explored emerging trends shaping the ILS landscape, including climate resilience, sustainable risk finance and evolving market dynamics.
This year’s programme featured keynote sessions, expert panels and networking events that fostered meaningful exchange between global stakeholders committed to the continued growth and innovation of the ILS market.
Jo Stanton, chair of the ILS Convergence steering committee, said: “Convergence brings together the entire ecosystem of the ILS market; from investors providing the capital, through managers, regulators and service providers, to cedants placing the risk. Bermuda is the place where these partnerships are formed and strengthened. Our local ILS community coming together with so many international participants underscores the importance of this jurisdiction—not only for advancing our industry’s shared goals but also for inspiring new ideas that will shape the future of risk transfer.”
Hanni Ali, co-chair of the ILS Convergence steering committee, added: "Convergence 2025 was positively buzzing, with industry leaders and emerging voices coming together to exchange ideas. All set to the backdrop of a record year for 144A Cat Bond issuance and strong growth in alternative capital reinsurance AUM. In addition to the ever-popular science focused segments, we learned about product innovation from thought leaders across casualty, cyber and legacy market segments demonstrating Bermuda's ongoing leadership in ILS and reinsurance."
